Please note that the Food Bank has now moved

into new premises opposite High Mill Primary School ....

Clydesdale Food Bank, Highmill, 96 Chapel St , Carluke, ML8 4BA

Did you know that we spend over £2,000 each week to provide fresh food & top up our donated food. Can you help us by making a donation?

WHAT CAN I DONATE?

  • Any dried or canned foods.
  • Cooking oil
  • UHT milk
  • Diluting juice
  • Any personal or household hygiene items.

WHERE CAN I DONATE ITEMS?
You can leave items at:

  • Clydesdale Food Bank: at 66 High Street, just next door to Boots between 10am and 12 pm each weekday.
  • Carluke - Tesco, Scotmid
  • Lanark - Tesco, Morrisons
  • Biggar - Brownlees, Coop
  • Law - Scotmid
  • Any Church throughout the area.

Schools, colleges and nurseries can all get involved and organise a collection point. We can provide posters and shopping lists. Once you have collected a few items you can bring them over to the shop in Carluke and see where the donations go and how they are used.

Your financial donations are crucial to us as they help us buy items of food and toiletries that we are low on. Financial donations also help us to pay for rent, telephone, insurance and general maintainance. Regular financial donations help us to plan and budget for the future.

You can make a financial donation by visiting our KindLink  page via the button below.

You can donate as much or as little as you want.
It would be lovely to know who you are and why you want to help us, so feel free to leave a message.

REGULAR DONATIONS

Regular financial donations help us to budget and plan for the future. A standing order enables you to support us regularly and claim back Gift Aid which is an enormous help.

If you would like to support us regularly then please get in touch with us and ask for a standing order form (which, once completed, can be dropped off at your bank) and a Gift Aid form which can be emailed or posted back to us.

Volunteer

Clydesdale Food Bank is run entirely by volunteers.

We always need people who are prepared to lend a helping hand – whether it be in the shop or delivering emergency food packages around the area.

If you’d like to volunteer please get in touch with us via Facebook, email or the contact form on this website.

WHAT ITEMS DO YOU NEED MOST?

The list of items that we need urgently changes everyday. If we have a busy
week with lots of referrals then our stock can run low quite quickly. That’s why we always use Facebook to let people know what we need urgently. Our most recent posts can be seen below.

Our aim is to provide emergency food parcels where needed throughout Clydesdale. We cannot do this without your support.

However you get involved, your contribution will help those struggling to make ends meet and unable to afford the basic needs in life.

We rely on support from many organisations and individuals including:

  • Churches and religious organisations
  • Educational establishments including nursaires, primary and secondary schools
  • Banks and businesses
  • Community and social groups including Brownie, Guides, Scout Groups, BBs, GBs, football supporter clubs and many others.

We are very grateful to Tesco, Greggs, Borders Biscuits, RW Scotts and Londis Carstairs Junction who all donate goods.

Clydesdale Community Initiatives at Lachloch Farm, Lanark has formed a Food Growers Cooperative with groups in Forth, Lanark, Lesmahagow and some of the smaller hospitals around South Lanarkshire. Growers either plant crops especially for us or donate their excess production. It has been top quality produce and goes some way to reducing our fresh food bill over the summer.

We encourage anyone who would like to collect food, raise money, or support us in any other way to get in touch.
